Summer Music Academy 2023

The Nouvelles Étoiles team invites young musicians aged from 6 to 18 years old and music teachers from around the world to participate in the Summer Camp 2023 which will take place in Pierrefitte-en-Auge, a beautiful village in Normandy, France.

Two sessions of Summer Camp 2023 will take place:

• 1st session: from July 21 to July 30, 2023

• 2nd session: from August 2 to August 11, 2023

Full Program & Conditions

The Summer Camp 2023 is a wonderful opportunity for young musicians from all over the world, alone or accompanied by their families, to spend a summer stay combining classical music lessons and group cultural activities in a family atmosphere and in a green, picturesque and environmentally friendly place.

For young musicians and music teachers

Young musicians will be able to participate in various musical and non-musical activities:

• Individual music lessons for piano, violin, viola and cello players

• Group lessons open to all chamber music instruments players

• Lessons of playful mathematics, drawing, singing, playful music theory, etc.

• Evenings with barbecue, dances and songs

 

In addition, auditions and concerts for trainees and teachers will be organized regularly on the site and in churches nearby. Trainees’ accompanists will be invited to attend the concerts as spectators.

 

Finally, several Master Classes will be organized during the stay, on different themes such as musical analysis, improvisation techniques and openness to other musical styles.

 

Teachers will also have the opportunity to participate in round tables on themes around music.

 

Trainees, teachers and accompanying persons will thus be able to enjoy a musical and relaxing stay combining:

• home cooked food,

• good times by the campfire,

• meeting new people and discovering talents from different countries.

Prices of activities and accomodation

BASIC PACKAGE – FULL BOARD:

 

Trainees can register for full board in rooms with 2, 4 or 6 beds.

 

The stay is possible for the trainee alone or accompanied by his family.

 

All trainees and their companions on full board will benefit from home-cooked food.

 

Prices:

• Accommodation, full board and participation in leisure and entertainment activities for trainees (total price over 10 days): €480

• Accommodation and full board for accompanying trainees (total price over 10 days): €360

• Administrative fees (price per person): €30

• Return transport to Pont-l'Évêque (price per person): €15

 

ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES - OPTIONAL:

 

• Teaching costs - 5 hours of individual lessons and 10 hours of group music lessons (total price): €460

• Chamber music lessons – 8 hours (total price): €300

• Self-learning accompanied by a pianist – 7 hours (total price): €280

 

THE PRICE DOES NOT INCLUDE:

• Plane ticket

• Train ticket from Paris to Pont-l'Évêque: c. €35 euros, duration 2.5 hours

• Visa and insurance costs

• Additional visits to Normandy and Paris

• Individual services

 

The Artima association can provide support for visa procedures, on request.

 

For those who wish to be more independent, they can find other accommodation options in Pierrefitte-en-Auge and around the lake of Pont-l'Évêque.

Organizers and teaching team

The Nouvelles Étoiles team, organizer of the Summer Academy 2023, will be represented by Maria Christiany, president of the ArtimA music and art school as well as organizer and jury member of "Nouvelles Etoiles" international music competition.

 

Maria Christiany is a graduate of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow. After a career as a concert performer in Russia and several other countries, Maria moved to Paris in 2008. After obtaining her Certificate of Aptitude at the CNSM in Paris as well as a Masters in Musicology at the University of Paris 8, Maria mainly dedicated herself to teaching music to students of different ages and levels and organizing cultural exchange programs between France and other countries.

 

Around Maria, other experienced music teachers will make up the teaching team of the Summer Academy 2023, and in particular:

 

Davit Pivazyan: violinist, composer and conductor. Graduated of the State Conservatory of Yerevan (Armenia), David now plays both as a soloist and an orchestral musician: notably, he played from 2012 to 2016 in the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia. Several works that he composed are performed all over the world.

 

Tatiana Borysenko: pianist from Ukraine, winner of several international competitions and professor at the National Academy of Music in Glier (Ukraine).

 

Elisabeth Lecoq: pianist and piano teacher, Elisabeth received a higher performance diploma unanimously at the École Normale de Musique Alfred Cortot in Paris. Holder of the CA (the most prestigious French pedagogical diploma at the CNSM in Paris) in piano, Elisabeth is now a piano and chamber music teacher and accompanist at the Conservatory of Le Havre.

 

Arthur Thomassin: French composer who studied philosophy in parallel with his studies in piano, conducting, writing and musical analysis. Arthur attended IRCAM (Institut de Recherche et Coordination Acoustique/Musique) and composed many musical works. After having taught musical training at the Regional Conservatory of Versailles, he became director of the Bobigny Conservatory.

 

Victoria Ulianova: music teacher and doctor of pedagogical sciences, Victoria studied teaching theory and methods in Ukraine and is now a music and choir teacher at the Artima association in Paris.
